An all-round performance came from Tanbir Hayder helped Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to manage a 10-run victory over Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club in a low scoring fourth round Super League match of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League held on Monday.
Favored by coin, Sheikh Jamal failed to make a good start as they were cheaply dismissed at a small total of 183 in 38 overs at BKSP ground in Savar.
Sheikh Jamal’s middle orders batsmen – Tanbir Hayder (43 n.o) Ziaur Rahman (39), Chand (27) and Pinag Ghosh (24) got good start but failed to convert those into a big knocks as wicket fell in regular intervals after Doleshwar’s bowlers threatened early inroad on Sheikh Jamal’s innings.
Zakaria Masud claimed three Sheikh Jamal’s wickets for 10 runs while Farhad Reza and Sharifullah shared two wickets each.
In reply, Doleshwar fell short as they were cheaply dismissed at 173 in 48.2 overs with Fazle Mahmud and Arafat Sunny both top scored with 35 runs each.
Apart from Tanbir’s four wickets haul for 31, Nazmul Islam captured two wickets.
Tanbir Hayder of Sheikh Jamal was named the player of the match.
