State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak has reiterated government’s commitment to bring all the people of the country under internet facility by 2021.
“Bangladesh has one million internet workers and currently, we are second in terms of supplying online labourers according to the oxford university report. We have a very specific target to create two million jobs in ICT sector within the next three years. With our different sorts of initiatives and projects, we will be able connect cent percent people to internet connectivity by 2021,” he said.
Palak came up with the observations while addressing a panel discussion of the World Economic Forum’s (WEFs) Impact Summit at the Wharton Forum Plenary Hall in New York on Tuesday night .
Facilitated by Njideka Harry, Minister for Youth and ICT of Rwanda Jean Philbert Nsengimana, Minister of State for ICT of Pakistan Anusha Rahman Khan and CEO of Turkcell kaan Terzioglu addressed the panel discussion, among others.
