All academic activities including admissions, classes of Autumn session of 2016 of the International Islami University Chittagong will be operated from the main campus of the university at Kumira in Chittagong with immediate effect .
In light of the directives of the UGC and the previous decisions of the IIUC, the step was taken, IIUC sources said.
The decision of closing the outer city campus was taken at the meeting of the Board of Trustees of IIUC held on Wednesday with Pro-VC(on charge) Prof. Dr. Delwar Hossain in the chair. Among others, Board of trustee’s vice chairman Prof.Kazi Din Mohammad, Prof. Ahsanullah,
Principal Amiruzzaman, Md. Nurrullah, Dean Prof.Abu Bakkar Rafique, Dean Prof. Giasuddin Hafiz, Dean Prof.Farid Ahmed Sobhani, Chief Incharge of Female Academic Complex Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, Proctor Prof.Shafiudin Madani, Asstt.
Proctor Dr. Md.Akhter Sayeed, Head of Business administration Sirajul Islam, Head of English Deptt Iftikharuddin, Head of Law faculty Saidul Islam, Director of Students affairs division AJM Obaidullah and Hall provost AFM Nuruzzaman were present on the occasion.
The meeting was told that since inception of the University activities, IIUC is complying the directives of the education ministry and the UGC and the university is bound to comply the private university act.
The meeting also condemned the heinous attack in Gulshan restaurant and Solakhia recently and urged all irrespective of caste and creed to aware the people of all strata against the terrorism and militancy in the country.
The meeting also decided to publish posters, banners, festoon against the militancy and to arrange an anti-militancy human chain in Kumira main campus on August 1, next to commemorate the deaths in the unwanted tragic incidents of Gulshan and Solakia.
After the human chain, condolence rally will be brought out in the campus followed by discussion meeting on militancy and terrorism, a IIUC sources said.
