Aliraz started his career in media by a TV play. He first acted in a play titled Bhangoner Shobdo Shuni under Nasiruddin Yusuff Bachchu’s direction, which story was written by Selim Al Deen. This play was telecasted on Bangladesh Television. During that time he acted in the name of W Anwar.
In 1984, Aliraz got the highest opportunity in his career. He got the scope to work in Razzak’s movie Shot Bhai.
After releasing the movie in that year he became regular in movies. He later started to work in the name of Aliraz which was given by Razzak while acting in his movie Shot Bhai. Later he worked in 110 movies like Momtaz Ali’s Niyot. Azharul Islam Khan’s Sohojatri, etc.
In his three decades of acting, Aliraz most of the time got Aruna Biswas as his co-actress in movies. This pair first worked in movie Koifiyot, Later he worked in movies Shomman, Durnam, Laal Benaroshi, among other movies.
Aliraz also acted in role father in many movies. Recently he has stepped into 59 on March 15.
While talking about his career Aliraz told this correspondent, “Only for Razzak now I am Aliraz. For this reason, I honoured him, still respect him and will also remember him in the long run. It is my great achievement to work under late Chashi Bhai’s movie Padma Meghna, Jamuna. But if Chashi Bhai’s movie Kathgora would release end of 90s it could become another milestone in my acting career. Moreover, I am satisfied with my achievements, successes and works. I want to survive with viewers’ likings rest of my life.”
Hailed from Sirajgong Aliraz always feels grateful to cinematographer Anwar Hossain Bulu because from the beginning of his career to till now he has been cooperated him a lot, he said.
Aliraz also mentioned that he is now engaged with shooting of Shamimul Islam Shamim’s movie Aamar Prem Aamar Priya, Sajal Ahmed’s Tui Aamar, Shafiq Hasan’s Dhumketu, Shahedur Rahman’s Real Man and Anwar’s Meye Kar. Besdies these, he has been also engaged with shooting of Zahid Hasan’s serial Raju 420.
Now he has been passing happy life with wife Jhinuk and two children – Sorol and Shormi.
