Ali Ashraf MP laid to rest

Former Deputy Speaker Professor Md Ali Ashraf MP has been laid to eternal rest beside his parents’ graves.
He was laid to rest at about 4:30pm on Saturday (July 31) beside his parents’ graves at their family graveyard after his fourth namaj-e-janaza at Gollai Ismail Dakhil Madrasa ground in his village home at Gollai union under Chandina upazila in Cumilla district with state honour.
Earlier, his first namaj-e-janaza was held at Gulshan Azad Mosque premises after Esha prayer on Friday. His body was taken to Chandina Mohila College ground in Chandina Upazila Sadar by a freezing ambulance from Dhaka on Saturday morning. His second janaza was there at 11:30am. After Zohr prayer, his third namaj-e-janaza was held at Ahsanullah High School ground at Dollai Noabpur

and the fourth namaj-e-janaza was held at Gollai Ismail Dakhil Madrasa ground after Asr prayer. Hundreds of people attended his namaj-e-janazas ignoring the inclement weather and drizzles since the morning.
Professor Md Ali Ashraf MP died of pneumonia at about 3:30pm on Friday at Square Hospital in Dhaka. He was elected as member of parliament for five times from Cumilla-7 (Chandina) constituency. He was 74.
