A man was beaten to death allegedly by his liquor addicted son at Panirjhiri Para in Alikadam upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Uthaiu, 55, a resident of the area.
Police said alcohol addicted Keykey Nu, son of the victim Uthaiu, beat up his wife with stick indiscriminately around 10.00pm, leaving her injured.
The incident took place following an altercation with his father as his father tried to halt the beating of his wife.
At one stage, Keykey hit his father in the head with the stick, leaving him critically injured.
Uthaiu was taken to Alikadam Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
