Alamgir’s golden jubilee in acting career

Alamgir is not only a noted film actor but also a producer and director of movies. Overall, he
is a full-fledged movie-lover
person. This celebrated actor always came forward any
crisis in the country’s film industry. Today this actor
is completing golden jubilee of his acting career in the silver screen.
Though as an actor, Alamgir debut his acting career through a television drama but he first stood in front of the movie camera on June 24 in 1972 for Alamgir Kumkum directed movie Aamar Jonmobhumi. In the middle of 1973 before releasing of this movie, Alamgir started shooting of Sirajul Islam Bhuiyan directed movie Dossurani, Azizur Rahman’s Otithi, Alamgir Kumkum’s Momota and Mohor Chand’s movie Hira. His acted movie Aamar Jonmobhumi was released on 24 October in 1973 and another movie Dossurani was released on October 28 on that year. From that time to till date he has acted in more than 225 movies.
In the country’s film history, Alamgir-Shabana was the highest acted pair in the silver screen. As a pair, they acted in 106 movies. Jhumka was Alamgir produced his first movie, while Nishpap was his directed debut movie.
In Mostafa Mehmud’s movie Monihar, Alamgir first lent his voice for the playback song which lyrics were written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar and music was composed by Satya Saha. He first got the National Film Award for acting in Kamal Ahmed directed movie Maa O Chhele. Later, he got the National Film Awards for eight times which is highest number among the heroes in the country. Ekti Cinemar Golpo was his last directed movie. He also received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Film Awards.
