Popular film actor Alamgir Hossain tested positive for Covid-19. He is now receiving treatment at a city hospital from April 18 night.
Alamgir’s wife and legendary playback singer Runa Laila confirmed the news to The New Nation. She wrote on her Facebook, “Alamgir is being treated in a local hospital by a team of excellent doctors, nurses and hospital staff who are monitoring him and taking very good care. He is in excellent spirits and is doing well. Masha’Allah.”
Runa Laila is seeking prayer from all for his early and complete recovery. She also informed that both Alamgir and she took and first second doses of vaccine for the protection of Covid-19.
Born on April 4 in 1950, Alamgir has been one of the most acclaimed film actors of the country. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor for a record nine times.
