Alam Ara Begum has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of the Nursing and Midwifery Directorate.
Deputy Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry Abdul Latif issued a circular on Thursday last on her new appointment.
Alam Ara was born in an aristocratic Muslim family at Goalchamat village in Faridpur district.
She joined the government service as BCS Administration Cadre in 1985.
She started her service life as the Assistant Commissioner at the office of Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi.
