Home Minister and Vice-President of Dhaka North City Awami League Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Friday said Awami League is predetermined to hold its 20th national council in a descent and smooth manner in accordance with the people’s expectations.
“The responsibility of the Discipline Sub-committee is the most significant one in completing our party’s national council in a descent and smooth manner to fulfil people’s expectations. Many local and foreign guests will attend the council. With the completion of our national council smoothly in a disciplined manner, they will also get a message that Awami League is a disciplined organisation,” he said.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said this while speaking at a meeting of the Discipline Sub-committee of Awami League (AL) National Council Preparatory Committee at the political office of party President Sheikh Hasina at Dhanmondi in the city.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not only a national leader but she has become an admired leader of the whole world. For her successful leadership,
Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was decorated with 29 international awards including two during her participation in the just concluded session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Her achievements have been highly appreciated not only at home but also abroad,” the minister said.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said all the significant achievements of the
country starting from the nation’s long arduous freedom struggle to the war
of liberation had been scored under the leadership of Awami League and the
national council of Awami League is being held under Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina’s leadership.

Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim presided over the meeting, also attended, among
others, by Vice-President of Dhaka North City AL Aslamul Haque Aslam, MP,
Vice-President of Dhaka South City AL Nurul Amin Ruhul, Awami Swechchhasebak
League Vice-President Nirmal Ranjan Guha, former General Secretary of Chhatra
League Ishaque Ali Khan Panna and Iqbalur Rahim, MP.
AFM Bahauddin Nasim told reporters that a watch tower would be set up at
the venue of the AL national council and it would operate from October 1
while the entire venue would be brought under the Wi-Fi network for smooth
and descent holding of the event.
