AL suspends 24 rebel UP chairman aspirants in Sylhet Division

Sylhet and Moulvibazar district units of Awami League (AL) have suspended 24 rebel aspirants for the posts of chairman of 23 union parishads in Bishwanath, Golapganj and Dakkhin Surma upazilas of Sylhet, and Rajnagar and Kulaura upazilas of Moulvibazar.
Voting in the union parishad is scheduled to be held on May 7.
Thirteen of the suspended candidates are from three upazilas in Sylhet while the rest from Moulvibazar’s two upazilas.
In Bishwanath, the suspended rebel candidates are Fakrul Islam of Deokalash union, Saiful Haque of Sadar union, Pir Liakat Hossain of Khajanchi union, Azizur Rahman of Rampasha union and Ashab Uddin of Daulatpur union.
In Golapganj, the suspended rebels are Abdus Samad Jilu of Sadar union, Rumel Siraj of Bhadeshwar union, Ashrafuzzaman Ashu of Lakkhanaband union and Kabir Ahmed of Laxmipasha union.
In Dakkhin Surma, the rebel chairman aspirants are Chunu Miah of Moglabazar union, MK Karim Kawsar and Mujibur Rahman of Daudpur union and Nurul Islam Alam of Daudpur union.
In Moulvibazar district, Nesar Ahmed, general secretary of the district unit, confirmed the suspension of 11 rebel candidates in 11 unions of Rajnagar and Kulaura upazila.
 The suspended rebel candidates of Rajnagar upazila are Matiur Rahman of Fathepur union, Saha Shahiduzzaman of Uttarbag union, Chatir Miah of Munshibazar union, Md Shamsun Nur of Panchbhag union, Md Tipu Khan of Tengra union, Ataur Rahman of Kamarchak union and Sadikur Rahman of Mansurnagar union.
In Kulaura, the rebel chairman aspirants are Abdul Malik of Tilagaon union, Khalilur Rahman of Sharifpur union, Mahmudur Rahman of Hajipur union and Juber Jobayer of Prithwimpasha union.
