AL submits annual financial report to EC

Awami League submitted its financial reports for 2020 to the Election Commission (EC) here today.
AL secretary of publicity and publication Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap submitted AL’s income and expenditure account to EC Secretary Md Humayun Kabir Khandaker at Agargaon Nirbachan Bhaban here.
AL office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua
and deputy office secretary Sayem Khan were present.
 Last year, the party’s revenue was reduced by 51 percent while expenses increased by 21 percent, according to the party’s annual financial report for 2020.
While talking to the reporters, Golap said that the income of Awami League in 2020 was Tk 10 crore 33 lakh 43 thousand 533 which is Tk 10 crore 68 lakh 97 thousand 797 less than the income of 2019.
Income has decreased by 51 percent compared to 2019, he said, adding that in 2019, the party earned Tk 21 crore 2 lakh 41 thousand 330, he added.
Regarding less income, he said that the money for selling nomination papers in 2020 has been less than the previous year.
The main sources of income include- subscriptions of members of different levels, sale of nomination papers and grants given by different individuals or organizations, he informed.
He said the Awami League has spent 9 crore 94 lakh 49 thousand 931 in 2020, which is Tk 1 crore 73 lakh 48 thousand 356 more than the expenditure of 2019.
Currently, the party has Tk 50 crore 73 lakh 37 thousand 194 in its fund, he continued.
