Bangladesh Awami League expressed its satisfaction at the International Crime Tribunal (ICT)’s verdict awarding capital punishment to war criminal Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam on Tuesday.
Addressing a press briefing at the AL’s Dhanmandi Office on Tuesday afternoon, Awami League Publicity Secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, “We are pleased at the judgment of the ICT.
The court has met the expectations of the people. The nation is now free from Denigration”. The AL leader finally congratulated the verdict on behalf of the Awami League.
Replying to a question, Dr. Hasan said, “The AL workers neither blasted the cocktails nor killed the teacher. In fact, what Mirza Fakhrul Islam claimed is not true.”
