Staff Reporter :Protesting the statement of Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam about JSD, the party’s founding General Secretary ASM Abdur Rab said the Awami League was responsible for the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In a press release issued on Tuesday, the JSD leader said that the wrong politics of Awami League (AL), and its colonial rule isolated the lBangabandhu from the people and pushed him to the door of death. The AL leaders took oath as ministers of the post-martial law government on August 15 in 1975. The four national leaders were killed under the direction of AL government.The formation of the party government instead of the revolutionary one shattered the unity of the nation built during the war of independence in 1971. Instead of facing the political crises with politics, muscle power was used and Jatiya Rakkhi Bahini was formed to suppress the aspirations of the people’s aspiration. Rab says that ban on politics, undemocratic step like the extension of the terms of the Parliament and the formation of the BAKSAL created ground for murder of Bangabandhu. JSD was formed with the spirit of liberation war when conspiracy was on to restore the British-Pakistani rule and social structure. With the call to establish exploitation-free society through social revolution.,the JSD started a journey and it is still on. Thousands of leaders and workers of the party sacrificed their lives, thousands lost their future in the jail, and thousands leave the country for security reason. Finally JSD’ASM Abdur Rab called for ideal state based on spirits of independence.
