The Awami League has announced to hold a public rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Saturday, marking the historic March 7.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to chair the meeting scheduled to be held at 3pm.
AL joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif made the announcement at a press conference at party president Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi office after a joint meeting on Monday.
Apart from the public rally, the party will also hold different programmes including placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at 32 Dhanmondi in the morning.
The month of March is
special to the ruling party as it includes Bangabandhu’s birthday on March 17 and the Independence Day on March 26 and March 30 as autocrat fall day.
