Bangladesh Awami League will hold a grand rally in the city’s Suhrawardy Udyan today (Monday) on the occasion of Homecoming Day (January 10) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The programme was scheduled to be held on Saturday, but it was deferred due to the Bishwa Ijtema.
Awami League Office Secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap said that they had not still got permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in this connection. “We are trying for the permission”, he said.
A huge gathering is expected in the rally, as the AL high command directed its leaders and activists to participate in it, said a leader of AL not to be named.
