Bangladesh Awami League on Monday celebrated its 65th founding anniversary ungiving the people to strengthen the foundation of democracy.
Kishoreganj District unit arranged a rally, seminar, photo gallery and discussion meeting marking the Day.
A discussion meeting was held at its office on Monday evening.
Syed Wahidul Islam (Potto Mia) Acting President of district unit presided over the meeting.
It was addressed among others by Zila Parished Administrator Advoate Md. Zillur Rahman, Acting General Secratary Adv M.A. Afzol, District Bar President Adv Shah Azizul Hoque, Adv Ataur Rahman, Nurul Islam Nuru, Principal Sharif Sadi, Aminul Islam Bakul and Syed Ashfaqul Islam Tito.
BSS from Rangpur adds: The 65th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) was observed here on Monday through various programmes with a fresh vow for building the developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The district and city units of AL chalked out elaborate programmes including hoisting of the national and party flags at the party office, placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu and post-rally discussion meeting at Katchari Bazar zero pint in the city.
With city unit AL President Shafiur Rahman Shafi in the chair, its district unit Acting President Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed attended the discussion as the chief guest.
General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, its city unit General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal, senior AL leaders including Advocate Illias Ahmed, Delwar Hossain, Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, Nabiullah Panna, Jashem Bin Hossain Jummon and young leader of AL Rasheque Rahman spoke.
The speakers said Bangabandhu and AL have been remaining inseparable as everlasting sources of all inspirations and the nation is now achieving its long-cherished goal of building a Sonar Bangla under leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to make independence meaningful for every citizen.
They narrated the glorious history of AL since its inception and said that the country achieved the hard-earned Independence from the clutches of the Pakistani occupation forces through the War of Liberation in 1971 under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The asked leaders and activists of AL and it’s front organisations for ensuring welfare of the people as dreamt by Bangabandhu, focused on achievements of the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and vowed for building a middle income nation through realising the Vision 2021.
