The ruling Awami League (AL) on Tuesday night finalised the party’s mayoral candidates for the December 30 municipality polls.
The AL nomination board finalised the lists of 235 candidates in a meeting chaired by party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Gonobhaban.
Party General Secretary and Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam and other members of the party selection board were present.
They finalised the candidates list from the names that came from the party’s local offices across the country, according to party sources.
