Bangladesh Awami League on Tuesday announced the names of 22 secretaries of the central working committee, two days after holding its 20th National Council.
The new General Secretary of Awami League (AL), Obaidul Quader, declared their names at a press briefing at the party’s Dhanmondi office in the morning.
The 14 secretaries are — Finance and Planning Affairs Secretary — Tipu Munshi, Law Affairs Secretary Abdul Matin Khasru, information and research Affairs Secretary Afzal Hossain, relief and social welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, office secretary — Abdus Sobhan (Golap), Religious Affairs Secretary — Sheikh Abdullah, Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Hasan Mahmud, Women and Children Affairs Secretary — Fazilatunnesa Indira, liberation war Affairs Secretary — Mrinal Kanti Das, Education and Human Resource Affairs secretary Shamsunnahar Chanpa, industry and commerce affairs secretary Abdus Sattar, labour and manpower affairs secretary Habibur Rhman Siraj, cultural affairs secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, and Health and Population affairs secretary Dr Sultana Rokeya.
The eight organising secretaries are — Ahmed Hossain, B M Mozammel, Misbah Uddin Siraj, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Enamul Haque Shamim, and Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury.
According to the AL Constitution, the central working committee will be consist of 81 members. Name of 21 members of the committee was also announced on Sunday during the Council Session.
