BSS, Dhaka :Treasury bench members yesterday unanimously demanded for bringing sedition charge against BNP’s senior Vice- chairman Tareque Rahman for the “audacious” remarks he made against the country’s Founding Father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.They said Tareque’s remarks describing Bangabandhu’s premiership as “illegal” tantamount to violation of the Bangladesh constitution and a sheer threat to the country’s hard-earned independence and sovereignty. Taking part in a general discussion on the thanks giving motion of the President’s speech, the Awami League lawmakers said according to the constitution, there is no scope to change a single word of the constitution or distort its meaning.
