Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain urged the leaders and activists of Awami League to work together to win in the next polls to retain the party in power.
“We need to be united and work together so that Awami League could come in power again under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina…You will have to go door-to-door to seek votes for ‘Boat’,” he said this on Friday while speaking at a function at his Badarpur residence in Faridpur.
Awami Swechchhasebak League (ASL), Faridpur district unit organized the function marking the 24th founding anniversary of the organization.
Zilla Parishad Chairman Lokman Hossain Mridha, AL district unit President Advocate Subal Chandra Shah, Sadar Upazila Chairman Khandaker Mohatesham Hossain Babar, Poura Mayor Mahtab Ali Methu and AL town unit President Nazmul Islam, among others, were present in the function with ASL district unit Convener Showkat Ali Zahid in the chair.
Urging the leaders and activists to remain alert against all types of conspiracies, Mosharraf said there is no alternative to working together. The next general election is very crucial for Awami League and also the country’s people, he added.
“You should work for Awami League to keep the continuation of the overall development programmes,” the minister said.
Earlier, Mosharraf cut a cake marking the founding anniversary of ASL.
