Post polls violence crippled Daudkandi upazila villages in Cumilla. About 10 BNP men were injured so far.
Ruling Awami League men are attacking, looting and vandalizing local BNP mens’ houses and businesses, alleged BNP Standing Committee Member and candidate for Cumilla-1 Constituency in December 30 polls Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain.
“Miscreants from ruling party men are attacking, looting and vandising our party leaders, workers and supporters’ houses and businesse in a number of villages and markets in Daudkandi since December 30 night,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
He condemned and protested the incidents and urged the administration to stop it immediately.
Dr. Mosharraf said, AL men are looting and vandalizing about 100 BNP men’s houses in Goalmari, North Daudkandi, Sundolpur, Iliotganj and other UP’s villages in the upazila.
The BNP leader said that he informed higher officials of administrations in Cumilla, but they have not taken any measure.
He said, AL, Jubo League and Chhatra League men have attacked Daudkandi Municipality councilor Mostak Ahmed’s and BNP leader Kawsar Alam’s houses in Tujarvanga area, and looted Maizpara, Donarchar and North Nasiruddi areas houses of our party supporters.
They looted two trucks of bricks from Monu Mia Bepar’s brick field close to the municipality.
They attacked and closed about 10 shops of BNP supporters in Iliotgonj and Goalibazar.
