A police official was beaten up by a number of alleged Awami League men at Kabilpur Bazar under Chaugachha upazila in Jessore on Sunday night.
Sub inspector Jasim Uddin was beaten up after he had arrested Awami League activist M Mohsin along with some Yaba pills from Kabilpur Bazar at around 7 pm on Sunday. The AL men also poured kerosene in his body. Addition police men rushed to the spot and rescued him, said locals.
SI Jasim told newsmen that he was humiliated by Mohsin and his men after recovering some Yaba pills from his possession. ‘Mohsin is a listed drug dealer’, he added.
