Bangladesh Awami League nominated mayor candidate Badaruddin Ahmed Kamran announced his 33- point o election manifesto on Wednesday for the up-coming Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) election scheduled to be held on July 30.
Kamran who was earlier mayor of Sylhet City Corporation for two consecutive terms opined that Sylhet City- dwellers elected him mayor for two terms and hoped if they again would elected him, he would render his service utmost for the welfare and betterment of Sylhet City dwellers.
Expressing his whole – hearted gratitude to Sylhet -dwellers, Kamran pledged to establish world standard school, college and world standard university here in Sylhet.
Besides, he reiterated his commitment to establish world -class clinics and hospitals, organising free monthly medical camps in every ward in Sylhet City. He gave his commitment for unfettered power-supply, bringing the present load-shedding to an end in Sylhet City and its adjoining areas, making Sylhet a traffic jam -free City, evacuating footpaths from versatile hawkers, setting up four new markets in order to rehabilitate hawkers, making small canals (Choras) and large canals free from illegal encroachment and, re- excavating them to remove water logging from Sylhet City.
In the manifesto Mr. Kamran reiterated his pledge to dredge the river Surma , taking steps to re-introduce connection of gas , ensuring cent-per-cent pure drinking water supply , introducing modern transport system and separate transport for women passengers, beautification establishment of modern city park beautification of the both banks of the river Surma like the Thames in London.
