The Rapid Action Battalion, or RAB, has arrested a local Awami League leader’s son with 470 yaba tablets in Kishoreganj’s Tarail Upazila.
The detainee is the 32-year-old Md Fakhrul Alam Muktar, son of Tarail Upazila Awami League President Md Azizul Haque Bhuiyan Motahar.
He was detained from the Upazila’s Taljanga area around 11pm on Thursday, said Lt Commander BNM Shovon Khan, company captain of RAB’s Kishoreganj camp.
“Muktar was detained with 470 yaba pills in a raid conducted on a tip-off,” said the RAB official.
Muktar, a ‘listed drug dealer’, confessed to his involvement in drug trading during the interrogation, said RAB.
