AL leader’s leg cut by rivals

An Awami League (AL) leader’s left leg was cut by rival group centering the establishment of supremacy and prior enmity in a local market at Bamihal under Sukesh Union in Singra upazila of Natore district on Sunday morning.
A gang of local AL leader Afjal Hossain also smashed the right leg by iron sticks in a broad-day light in front of a tea stall in Bamihal area, reports our Natore Correspondent quoting Police.
The victim Morshedul Islam, 35, Acting President of Ward No 1 of Sukesh Union, was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.
Quoting locals, Neaymul Alam, Inspector (Investigation) of Singra Police Station said, “A seven to eight followers of Afjal Hossain carried out the attack on Morshedul while he was taking a cup of tea in standing position at Bamiahl Bazar around 10:00am.”
The incident took place over the long prior enmity and establishing the supremacy in the union, the OC said.
