UNB, Dhaka :
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday alleged that ruling party leaders have got infected with the ‘money-making disease’.
“The Prime Minister yesterday (Saturday) said the tendency of making money is a disease. But you (ruling party leaders) are much infected with this disease. You’re now arresting your golden boys and asking them to be good by mending themselves,” he said.
Fakhrul came up with the remarks while speaking at a discussion arranged by Nari O Shishu Odhikar Forum, a platform of BNP, at the Institutions of Engineers, Bangladesh.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the trend of making money now has become a disease. “It’s sickening … we want those who lead the life with honest income to get the dignity.”
Addressing the triennial council of Dhaka North and South City units of Bangladesh Awami League (AL), the Prime Minister also said, “The hard-earned money of people will be spent on ensuring the welfare of people, not for the lavish lifestyle of anyone.”
