AL leaders Enu, Rupon held for ‘casino business’

Staff Reporter: Ruling Awami League leaders of the capital’s Gandaria thana unit Enamul Haque Enu and his brother Rupon Bhuiyan have been arrested by
Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The CID on Monday claimed that they held the two brothers for their alleged link with amassing over Tk 218 million through the casino business.
Faruque Hossain, Additional Superintendent of the CID said journalists thaty They held the two suspected brothers during separate drives in Dhaka on the morning.
Enu and Rupon are shareholders of Dhaka Wanderers Club’s which was involved in casino business.
The duo are accused in seven cases of the money laundering prevention, special power and firearms acts.
Rapid Action Battalion filed the cases with Wari, Gandaria and Sutrapur police stations after recovering huge money, gold and firearms from their houses in Gandaria in a raid.
According to the cases, the duo own 15 houses. Besides, they used their firearms to terrorise surrounding people.
