A local leader of Awami League was shot dead by miscreants in Sadar upazila of Sirajganj on Saturday night.
The victim was identified as Bakul Hossain, joint general secretary of Bagbati union’s ward unit of AL and also a ward member of the union, said Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station. The miscreants fired at Bakul when he was going home from the Bagbati Bazar on a motorcycle around 8:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot, the OC told The New Nation Pabna Correspondent.
Motorcycle driver Rafiqul was also sustained bullets, added the OC.
