Awami-League (AL) leader was shot dead by miscreants in Pabna in broad daylight. The incident occurred on Friday noon at Bangabari village of Himayetpur union in Pabna sadar.
Victim leader was identified as Saidar Rahman Pramanik, 50, tenant of Kablipara village of the union. He was an executive member of Pabna pourashava unit AL.
According to the deceased’s family, and locals, Saidur was sitting with some people in a tea shop at Najur Mor few minutes before Juma prayers. Suddenly some miscreants surrounded him.
At his, his accomplices managed to run away, while, the miscreants shot him indiscriminately. After that he died on the spot.
Confirming the matter, Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Masood Alam
said, the incident took place around 1 pm. “We are on the spot. Primarily, it is assumed that he has been killed over previous enmity.
An investigation is being carried out to unearth the truth, he said.
