A local Awami League leader was stabbed to death in Naogaon on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Md Ishak Hossain, 50, President of Patnitala Upazila unit of AL.
Confirming the incident, Parimal Kumar Chakrobarty, Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Patnitala Police Station told The New Nation that a group of unknown assailants stabbed Ishak entering his residence at about 9.30 pm.
He was later taken to Patnitala Upazila Health Complex in critical condition. He died while taking treatment, said the OC.
