Joint general secretary of Hazaribagh Thana Awami League and councilor of ward no-22 of Dhaka South City Corporation Jannat Ali died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city last night.
He was 56. He left behind his wife, two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
He was buried at Azimpur graveyard after a Namaz-e-Janaza at BGB 5 No-gate in the city after Zuhr prayer, said a press release signed by AL office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua.
Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Sunday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Jannat Ali.
In a condolence message, Taposh prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
