Rly tree felling: AL leader Hiron acquitted from charge

Railway probe committee of East Zone Railway, Chittagong acquitted from the charge of illegal tree felling of Railway owned land on April 25 .
The probe committee submitted report to the General Manager, East Railway Zone on Sunday. In the probe committee report three persons allegedly involved with the illegal tree felling of railway , sources said. Probe committee did not traced any involvement of the AL leader Hiron Meah. The accused persons are CCC contractor Abdul Matin and the jubodal leaders Sohel and Arman. Divisonal Engineer Tarun Kanti Bala submitted the report to GM Mokbul Ahmed on Sunday afternoon, sources said. The team leader of theprobe committee recommended 3-points proposals for preserving the century old national heritage bearing these trees in CRB area in Chittagong.
 Mentionable that about 30-35 trees of different species were fallen indiscriminately from Tigerpass point to Pahartali police beat with lame excuse of road expansion by a group of miscreants. Two persons were rounded for alleged involved with the illegal tree felling. In this connection, a case of tree smuggling was also lodged with the Khulsi thana in city, sources said.
