The body of Awami League leader Named Shaista Mia (50) was recovered from the side of the road in Sylhet. Police recovered the body from Paraichak area of Sylhet-Fenchuganj road on Friday night.
Shaista Mia Shaista Mia was a resident of Kayesthaghat village in Balaganj upazila of Sylhet and general secretary of ward Awami League. It is learned that he was returning home on a motorcycle from Sylhet city on Friday night. After 10 minutes of leaving the city, his family members called him on his mobile but it was not received. Upon receiving the news, the police recovered the body lying on the side of the motorcycle from Parairachak area.
Shamsuddoha PPM, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Moglabazar Police Station said, he was presumed dead after being hit by a vehicle on his way home at night. His body was recovered and sent to Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
