A case filed with a US federal court against Qatar-based media Al Jazeera for broadcasting a report that tarnished the image of Bangladesh.
Dr Rabbi Alam, Sher-e-Alam and Rizvi Alalm, on behalf of US unit of Bangabandhu Parishad and Bangabandhu Commission filed the case at the 6th Circuit Court in Michigan.
The case statement said Al Jazeera’s report titled All the Prime Minister’s Men has tarnished the image of Bangladesh disseminating “false and fabricated” information.
The accused in the lawsuit are Al Jazeera English, Al Jazeera Media Networks, British journalist David Bergman, Delwar Hossain, Hungary-based entrepreneur Zulkarnain Saer Khan, Kanak Sarwar and Iliyas Hossain.
