Staff Reporter :BNP standing committee member Dr Abdul Moin Khan said yesterday that the country witnessed an upward trend of corruption as the ruling Awami League (AL) government plunged into corruption. Referring the latest TI report that ranks Bangladesh as the 14th corrupt country among 175 countries across the world, he said, the report proves AL introduces corruption again by embezzling public fund for their personal benefit.  He said this while speaking at a programme at Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Wednesday. The Mukti Joddha Dal organized the programme with its president Istiaque Aziz Ulfat in the chair. “The government looted the money from the banks and other institutions. Such an act by AL undermines economic growth,” he added. Bangladesh Kallayan Party Chairman Seyed Mohammad Ibrahim, BNP Publication Secretary Joynul Abedin Farooq, Mohila Dal General Secretary Sherin Sharmin, Mukti Joddha Dal General Secretary SM Shafiuzzaman Khokon, Kishoreganj district BNP President Adv Fajrur Rahamn, and among others of pro-BNP organizations, were present in the function.
