BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday accused the ruling Awami League of creating an uncomfortable situation in the country.
“The ruling party goons have created an uneasy situation in the country by indulging in reckless and willful activities,” the BNP chief said in a press statement released on the day.
She said that the Awami League leaders and activists are polluting the administration and the law enforcement agencies, which will have a very bad impact in the long run.
The government officials are humiliated when they ignore unjustified and unrealistic pleas, said the former prime minister with reference to an alleged assault on the UNO of Parshuram upazila in Feni district.
BNP Chairperson demanded due punishment to those who were involved with the offence.
“People nowadays are worried, as the government does not care for the country’s rule of law,” the BNP chief said.
A representative democratic government, which will be formed through a fair and free national election only, can improve the situation, Khaleda underscored.
She said, the innocent leaders and activists of the opposition party are punished by filing false cases, but he guilty leaders and activists of the party-in-power are dealt with mercy.
