Awami League Presidium Member and Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on Tuesday said the ensuing national council of the party would play a important role in winning the next Parliament election.
“As a democratic party, AL will further strengthening in upcoming
council. The council will play a vital role to take the party forward to win in the next polls,” he said while speaking at a meeting of AL National Council preparatory subcommittee on reception at AL Dhanmondi office in the city. Mohammad Nasim is convener of the subcommittee.
The 20th National Council of AL will be held on October 22 and 23.
Mohammad Nasim said, powerful countries of the world have come forward to assist Bangladesh because of the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Health Minister said, “The next poll will be held in due time under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
The AL’s forthcoming National Council will brighten the party’s image and take the country forward in the path of democracy, he said, adding that the preparations for the National Council is at the last stage now.
He said, political leaders from 14 countries have been invited to the Council.
Replying to a question Nasim said, Prime Minister’s son Sajib Wajed Joy has been made a councilor from Rangpur to join the Council.
“He (Sajib Wajed Joy) has brought a revolutionary change in information technology of our country.
AL Presidium Member Sahara Khatun, Joint-General Secretaries Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif and Dr. Dipu Moni, Organizing Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Khalid Mahmud, Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq, AL International Affairs Secretary Col. (Retd) Faruque Khan, Liberation War Affairs Secretary Capt. (Retd) ABM Tajul Islam and Information and Research Affairs Secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain, among others, attended the meeting.
