Awami League nominated MP candidate for Netrakona-2 Constituency and former MP Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru underlined the need for flourishing of objective journalism to uphold the truth and keep the people free from all sorts of confusion and propaganda.
Khasru, who also a renowned freedom fighter and General Secretary of AL Netrakona District Unit , was exchanging views with local journalists at his Muktarpara residence here yesterday.
District-level AL leaders including Mazharul Islam and Muzammel Haque Tuku were present there.
Terming the media as a “mirror of the society” Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru said that the media workers could play an important role for holding the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad election in a free, fair and peaceful manner as well as steering the nation towards progress and prosperity.
Replying to a question, the AL nominated candidate Khasru expressed his hope that all the five AL nominated MP candidates including him for five constituencies under the district would be elected by the voters as socio-economic condition of the local people was improved and many development projects were implemented to ensure sustainable development in the district during the regime of the AL government.
