Staff Reporter :The pro-Awami League ‘White Panel’ has won the majority posts, including that of the President, in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) elections ended on Thursday. On the other hand, the BNP supported ‘Blue Panel’ got six posts, including that of Secretary. The ruling AL-backed Sammilita Ainjibi Samannoy Parishad (SASP) won eight posts out of 14, while the BNP supported Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Forum (JAOF) won the six posts.Chief of the Election Committee Advocate Harunur Rashid announced the polls result on Friday morning. Some 3,921 lawyers out of 5,036 cast their votes in the two-day annual elections to the SCBA. According to the results, Awami League’s advisory council member Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun was elected the SCBA President and BNP Joint-Secretary General Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon was elected Secretary.Advocate Md Taherul Islam of the SASP and Advocate Fahima Nasrin Munni of the JAOP were elected vice-presidents. The other office-bearers from the SASP are: two assistant secretaries- Advocate AKM Rabiul Islam Sumon and Advocate Sheikh Sirajul Islam Siraj, treasurer- Advocate Ramzan Ali Sikdar and executive members-Advocate Khan Mohammad Shamim Aziz, Advocate Nasrin Siddiqua Nina and Advocate Abdul Aziz Mia Mintu.Advocate Nasir Uddin Samrat, Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed Asim, Advocate Rezaul Karim Reza and Advocate Kamal Hossain of the JAOP panel were elected executive members.
