The annual election of Chittagong District Lawyers Association ended on Monday with enthusiastic atmosphere .
The whole court building premises turn jubilant mood during election period. 3 panels backed by Awami league, BNP and Left fronts contested the election. AL backed panel under the banner of Lawyers Coordination Parishad clinched landslide victory for the first time after 10 years.
The LCP panel sweeps 7 posts including President, General Secretary, Senior Vice President, Vice President, Library secretary and two executive members. Advocate Anowarul Islam Chowdhury and Advocate Abdur Rashid elected President and General secretary respectively. On the other hand, Jatiyatabadi Lawyer Oikya Parishad sweep 6 posts including Asstt. General Secretary, Fianance Secretary, Cultural secretary and 3 EC members.
Out of totals 2861 voters, 2399 voters caste their vote, sources said. In last election of 2013,left front panel sweeps victory with 5 posts including President, General Secretary and BNP backed panel wins in 7 posts and AL backed panel gets 6 posts.
