AL- backed Nasir vows to turn Ctg into global standard

The 14-party-backed mayoral candidate for upcoming Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) polls AJM Nasir Uddin yesterday sought support from people of Chittagong to turn the port city into a world standard city.
Nasir sought this support while addressing mass-contact programmes in several city areas, including CEPZ, Patenga and Agrabad commercial areas.
He also attended a meeting organized by M A Latif, MP in CEPZ area this noon and exchanged views with locals. The mayoral candidate was also hopeful to make Chittagong a clean and global standard metropolis and free it from water-logging problem .
He told different wayside meetings that the BNP-backed outgoing mayor, M Monjur Alam, had failed to address the issue of water-logging.
“If elected, I will make the city free from water logging and also increase public services,” he added. Nasir said he would implement three plans — long-term, mid-term and short-term– to tackle water-logging.
He also urged the election commission to make level playing field for all the candidates so that every one can conduct the election campaign peacefully., a release of Nasir’s media committee said.l.
