Awami League won 5 Municipality Mayor posts in Mymensingh, BNP 2 and the Awami League rebel candidates got another 2 municipalities. These are unofficial results announced on Wednesday night.
Muktagacha Municipality BNP candidate for Mayor Shohidul Islam got 9 thousand 335 votes and was elected unofficially. Lenin got nearest JP 5 thousand 320 votes, Awami League rebel candidate Debashish Ghosh Bappi took third position getting 4 thousand 710 votes. The current mayor of Awami League candidate Abdul Hai Akhand, got 4 462 votes and took 4th position.
Gauripur Awami League candidate and current mayor Syed Rafiqul Islam got 7 thousand 119 votes and was elected unofficially.
Valuka Awami League candidate for Mayor Dr. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed Qayyum got 9 thousand 137 votes and was elected unofficially. Hatim Khan has been his closest party. He received 4 thousand 202 votes.
Fulbaria Awami League candidate Mayor Ghulam Kibria received 7 thousand 799 votes and was elected unofficially. His nearest rival BNP rebel candidate Chan Mahmoud got 4 thousand 80 taking second place.
Gaphargao Awami League, Iqbal Hossain Sumon got 12 thousand 714 votes and was elected unofficially. His nearest, BNP candidate Shah Abdullah Al Mamun received 589 votes.
