A new prosecution witness (PW) yesterday submitted his deposition in the trial of Bagerhat Razakar trio Khan Akram Hossain, Abdul Latif Talukder and Sheikh Sirajul Haque alias Siraj Master at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1.
Freedom Fighter (FF) Sohrab Nakib, of village Bilkul under Kachua police station in Bagerhat, testified as PW-15.

“On December 13, 1971, as fellow FF Fazlur Rahman went to Teligati Bazar leaving me behind, some Razakars including Khan Akram and Latif apprehended him. Hearing the hue and cry I took cover and saw Razakars took Fazlur on the bank of a canal south of the Bazar. There, first Akram shot at him, followed by Latif and Rustom Mollah. They killed him and dumped his body in the canal,” said the witness.
After his deposition, defence counsel Mohammad Abul Hasan cross-examined him. The tribunal than adjourned the hearing till today leaving the cross-examination incomplete.
The ICT-1 issued warrant to arrest the trio on June 10, 2014, and Latif was nabbed by police on that very day. Akram was arrested on June 20 and Siraj on July 21.
The ICT-1 on November 5, 2014, indicted the trio and framed seven charges of crimes against humanity.
