Recently banned Islamic outfit ‘Ansarullah Bangla Team’ has issued a death threat to seven renowned personalities, including former University Grand Commission (UGC) chairman Prof AK Azad. Prof Azad Chowdhury filed a General Diary (GD) with Dhanmondi Police station on Wednesday in this regard, said sub-inspector Taslim Uddin of the police station. The former UGC chairman received the death threat through a letter sent by post by the outlawed Ansarullah Bangla Team. In the GD, Prof Azad mentioned that Assaduzzaman’s (minister) name was also there in the hit list but did not elaborate whether it was State Minister for Home Affairs, SI Taslim said. Dr AM Amzad, Dr Abu Md Delwar Hossain an Abu Mostafa were among the seven in the hit list, he added. -Dhaka, June 2 (UNB)
