The Vice Chancellor of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) Dr Carmen Z Lamagna in her capacity as the outgoing Treasurer of the International Association of the University Presidents (AIUP) along with its Vice President for International Affairs Ishtiaque Abedin represented AIUB at the 14th triennial conference of the association held in Pacifico Yokohama, Japan from June 11 to June 14 with the theme “Creating the Future of Higher Education”.
Every 3 years, the IAUP sponsors its triennial conference. The 14th conference had 400 delegates all over the world, which provided a venue for interaction with other university presidents and global leaders of various institutions and organizations.
Dr Lamagna chaired a session on the sub theme “Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement and Innovation in Higher Education.”
During the conference, the full IAUP membership convenes in the General Assembly for the presidency transitions for the next 3 years. Dr Lamagna is an ex-oficio member of the IAUP Board of Directors and an executive committee member for the period 2014-2017.
