Samsung Research and Development Institute Bangladesh Ltd (SRBD), one of the Research and Development Operations of the electronic industry giant Samsung International based in Korea has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) as research and technical partners to mutually promote the mobile and other consumer driven program and system development.
The MOU was signed by Dr Carmen Z Lamagna, Vice Chancellor of AIUB and Dr Nam Kyu Lee, Managing Director of SRBD. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr Tabin Hasan, Head (Postgraduate Program); Dr Dip Nandi Head (Undergraduate Program); Prof Dr Hasan Jamil (Visiting Professor) of Department of Computer Science from AIUB, and Mohammad Shahidul Islam, Director of Mobile Development, Wahidur Rahman, Senior Chief Engineer and Raquibul Hasan from SRBD.
This partnership with the University is the first undertaking of SRBD to launch their innovative approach of research and development involving students and employees of an educational institution in Bangladesh.
As a take off activity within the spirit of the MOU, SRBD is working with Tizen system and solution with AIUB as the very first project on the current semester. The University, particularly the Faculty of Science and Information Technology is confident that the collaboration will be productive and beneficial to both AIUB and SRBD in the years to come.
