Twelve Airtel Rising Stars finalists from the second season of Airtel Rising Stars, an initiative of Airtel Bangladesh Limited, left Bangladesh for a weeklong grooming session at Manchester United Soccer School in Old Trafford .
These budding football talents have been selected after a rigorous scouting program which took place in 19 hubs across the country with over 10,000 participants.
The final 12 from this year’s Airtel Rising Stars are Md.Mustajik Khan from BKSP, Savar; Md. Mahadud Hossain Fahim, BKSP, Savar; Md. Anik Hossain from Isdajir Rabia Hossain High School, Narayanganj; Md. Nayeem Islam from Shitolai Alim Madrasa, Rajshahi; Md. Emon Biswas from BKSP, Dinajpur; Mahbubur Rahman from Victoria High School, Moulvibazaar, Srimanagal; Md. Hafizur Rahman from Badshah Faisal Islami Institute, Jessore; Md.Solaiman Haque from Chandrabaj Rashida Begum School and College, Jamalpur; Md. Mashiur Rahman from Chai Moria Bohumukhi High School, Gaibandha; Md.Khokon Miya from Chandrabaj Rashida Begum School and College, Jamalpur; Md. Sabbir Hossain from Torun Sangha Taka Para High School, Rajshahi; Md.Sohanur Rahman from BKSP, Khulna.
The 12 finalists of Airtel Rising Stars are expected to return to Bangladesh on 4th of May, 2014. During the training session at Old Trafford, the 12 finalists of Airtel Rising Stars will get the opportunity to experience a match between Manchester United Vs. Norwich city which will be the first match under the legendary player, Ryan Giggs as the interim manager. The 12 Finalists will go through a vigorous training session focusing on various on field strategies, fitness, skills and etc.
‘Airtel Rising Stars’ is a rigorous scouting program which has been held in 2 rounds conducted over a span of 5 months, at the end of which, top 12 players (under 16 years of age) has been selected. In the Airtel Cup, players from all hubs from across the country competed with each other in different teams where top 120 players were chosen. The 120 players selected from 19 Hubs were taken through a 4 day grooming session at BKSP. Launched in association with Manchester United (one of the best soccer clubs in the world), the top 12 players out of 120 players has been selected to travel to Manchester United for a training program at Old Trafford.
