Sylhet Bureau :
The Sylhet airport authorities have requested people suffering from conjunctivitis not to travel within seven days of being infected with the disease.
According to Osmani International Airport Director Hafiz Ahmed, there has been a rise in conjunctivitis cases recently.
He said that if someone must travel on an emergency basis, they must take prescriptions from a BMDC registered doctor, necessary medicines and wear sunglasses at the airport.
The airport’s health authorities will provide the fitness documents after verifying the documents.
Sylhet Upazila Health and Planning officer Sirajum Munir Rahil who also heads the airport’s health department said that passengers have been discouraged from travelling as conjunctivitis is contagious.
Previously on Tuesday, Hazarat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka issued a similar notice after observing the presence of people infected with conjunctivitis outside the airport for safety reasons.
