As per the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh Air Force is conducting different activities in preventing coronavirus in the country following the government rules while it’s a special helicopter is ready to carry COVID-19 patients.
Under the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, Bangladesh Air Force ‘in aid to civil power’ is providing support to the local administration in emergency aviation and medical evacuation, an ISPR press release recently said.
Subsequently, as per the directives of Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, an initiative has been taken to convert an AW-139 helicopter of Bangladesh Air Force into a cubicle stretcher to carry COVID-19 patients.
A structure is installed in the cubicle stretcher, which is covered by a plastic but COVID-19 patients can be able to take breathe from the stretcher through oxygen mask. Bangladesh Air Forces has completed a demonstration in this regard.
In addition, a process is underway to include such facilities in some other helicopters and aircrafts of Bangladesh Air Force.
